WoO Late Model Series Rookie Brent Robinson Hopes Racing On Familiar Turf Gets Him Rolling

CONCORD, NC – April 10, 2009 – A weekend of racing on home turf has never looked so appealing to Brent Robinson.

After absorbing some hard knocks during his first six races this season as a World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rookie of the Year contender, the 21-year-old from Smithfield, Va., welcomes the tour’s doubleheader in his backyard on Fri., April 17, at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Sat., April 18, at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Va.

“These two shows are going to be real big for us,” said Robinson, a personable young talent who campaigns family-owned Rocket cars sponsored by Steeltech Industrial Fabrication of Chesapeake, Va., and Terry Heating & Air Conditioning. “We’ve been traveling all over the country and every track we’ve run at I’ve seen for the first time, so I’m excited to finally get a chance to race close to home at two tracks I know.” More

Brent Robinson announces 2009 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year plans

Smithfield, Virginia (March 11, 2009) The Brent Robinson Inc. (BRI) race team is set to announce their 2009 plans to follow the entire World of Outlaws Late Model series in search of the coveted Rookie of the Year title. The ambitious schedule which hosts 48 events at 39 different tracks in 21 states and 3 Canadian provinces will be the first tour for the team on a National level.

“We are very excited about this season. We have had this in the back of our minds that we were going to chase the Rookie of the Year title this year, so as soon as last year was over we started getting prepared. By the time February rolled around we were ready to go with two cars complete and another one in parts, loaded up in the rig. The schedule works out really well for us because the bulk of the races where we will be gone for weeks at a time, occur once classes are complete for the semester”. (Brent is a junior at Old Dominion University).

BRI is headed to Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL this weekend for two shows: Friday night, March 13th, $7,000 to win and Saturday night, March 14th, $12,000 to win. This action packed weekend will be opening night for the 4/10 mile oval track with some of the biggest names in Dirt Late Model racing.
